Share runs and manage groups

Share a run when other people need to view its details or results. You can share with named users or a group you own. This guide covers run access and group members.

Before you start

You'll need access to the run and permission to share it:

  • The run creator can grant Viewer or Editor access.
  • An Editor can grant Viewer access.
  • The creator can change or remove existing access. An Editor can't.

Administrators can also grant Viewer or Editor access, change or remove existing permissions, and rename runs. Other users need to be the run creator to rename a run.

A group is a saved list of users. Its members can get access to runs shared with that group.

Share a run

  1. Open the run's details and select Share.
  2. In Share run, choose Users or Groups. Type at least two characters to search. Select the people or groups you want to add.
  3. Under Permission, choose their access level.
    • Choose Viewer to let them view the run and its results.
    • Choose Editor if they also need actions such as file downloads or reuse of the run's settings.
  4. Select Share. Check the confirmation and the sharing list.

Sharing also gives access to earlier runs that this run depends on. These may be called ancestor runs in the dialog. If only some access changes succeed, check the listed run IDs and current access before you retry.

Sharing a run doesn't share every run in its experiment. Viewers can't download files, share, rename, cancel or delete runs. Editors can grant Viewer access to others. They can't change or remove existing access.

Create and manage your groups

  1. Open Groups and select New group.
  2. Enter a unique name with at least two characters.
    • Use lowercase letters, digits, hyphens or underscores.
    • Start with a letter. End with a letter or digit.
  3. Search for users and add at least one other member. Select Create group. You're added as the creator and can't remove yourself.
  4. To change a group you created, open it and select Edit members. Add or remove members, then select Update members.
    • The creator stays in the group.
    • You can't remove another member if only two members remain.
  5. Check the member list after saving. A removed member loses access granted through that group. They may need to select Refresh my access in the account menu to see the change.

Use My groups to find groups you own. Groups shared with me shows groups owned by other people. You can view their members, but can't change them.

Deleting a group removes the access it granted. It doesn't delete the runs.

What happens next

People can find runs shared with them in Runs or open a direct run link. If an access change doesn't show yet, ask them to select Refresh my access in the account menu.
